Elys Mortrum
A stronghold of hollowed stone and soil buried under the rich ash of the former tree giving green life to it all.
The hold seats the military power of the people, a graveyard frequented by those traveling below the mountain, and the farms leading into the market where the docks trade post take place.

A world wrapped in fire in large, where most of life was turn to ash. The only beings with the constitution to survive this global event had been able to live outside the reach of the tree.

You stumble across a group of necromancers, gathered around piles of ash, bringing the spirits of the previous residents of the old world. Spirits are now coming alive and talking about a world they once walked.

Resources have grown thin, to those not established cities after the old world. Thieves are lingering, awaiting someone to lower their guard, by the farmers market.

An old dragonborn is telling stories at the tavern, and people are flocking around. Discussing traditions of the old world, without any proof to their words, people are starting to wonder if it's true or not.

There was a life tree, growing and expanding throughout the world. This Great Tree was once the center of life in the world, however it grew too deep, and the roots ended up expanding and striking at the center core of the world. Doing so, it started unnatural responses in volcanos erupting, the earth splitting, lava seeping through the cracks of the earth and expanding across all of the lands.
The Great Tree became eaten away by flames it had caused.
Dragons took to the skies, shielding and protecting all of those they could.
Fae took underground, where the roots of the tree primarily resided, allowing them coverage in the life itself.
The world slowly became covered in the lava, hardening, forging a new world above that became inaccessible. Though not all life was lost, during this time, those who have survived on the surface had to start anew, scavenging, building.. a new life style had begun.
With the Great Tree's death, it left a sproutling, emerging at the bottom of Mt. Ayre, and starting to expand it's life roots across the new world.
On one side of the mountain, Wyndameer was claimed by the people of Mystrock Keep. They have located the new sproutling tree within the cavern of Mt. Ayre, that lead down it's roots towards the center of the world; Aurun Amaya.
Wyndameer was known for focusing primarily on the life that the Great Tree once had offered the lands.
The opposite side of Mt. Ayre also holds opposite views on the new sproutling. They seek nutrients for the tree by collecting the dead of the old world, using the death that it has caused and repurposing it to the new formed life. Along with doing so, unearthing the remains of the old world, calling forth the spirits for their knowledge. Allowing a constant cycle of life beyond death, helping the new sproutling continue to grow on both ends of Life and Death itself.

A man made sanctum within Mt. Ayre, under the Stronghold. Made to reach out to the molten, to allow a natural hot springs.

Spiritual wells that calm and heal body and soul, also produce mist making it harder to hold a hostile thought.

Undead come here to cleanse their bodies and soul, ridding themselves of their curses to become of the Great Tree's welcomed dead, to be able to walk among the living.
