Prologue

Nuclear war was always a threat, humans having to live on the tips of their toes in day-to-day life.

Though the world [REDACTED] was constantly at war, some cities were in claimed 'safer' zones than others.

So, when the bombs did rain across the lands, the city was able to flee underground and still have their semi-peaceful lives.

Before, and after, the bombs fell, the military still rose to the surface and were the frontline of gathering resources, as it became harder for those to survive without their need of food and clean water. So, as the military searched for food, those who worked the factions maintained the water treatment facility enough to process drinking water.

It did not last long until the radiation started to appear in their water and the facility was unable to clean it out completely. This caused mutations to take place within the underground cities and even kill off those who consumed too much. Even though they were considered dead, some were rumored to return to life with feral mindsets and needed to be put down for good.

This caused concern that once those who have died, they will rise as undead, and possibly hurt their families.

So when it became close to death, or they feared the end, the families would barricade their homes from the inside to keep their undead selves trapped inside the home, until they passed on for good.

As the world above slowly starts to become livable, the undercities below still maintain a civilization enough to keep generations going, in hopes to live above once again.

Though not a lot, it was enough to keep those within the community alive.
